Dr. Schraw has extensive experience making injections in the facial area as part of her practice of traditional dentistry. She has completed additional training for the specialized use of Botox and Dermal Fillers. In 2009, the South Carolina State Board of Dentistry provided a statement of guidance allowing dentists to use Botox and other injectables in modern dentistry.
Is Botox safe?
Botox was introduced in the late 1980’s and since then more than 11 million men and women have been treated with Botox, giving it a strong history of safety. As with any drug, side effects are possible and Dr. Schraw will discuss these with you before the procedure.
How long before I see results from Botox?
It usually takes between four and seven days to notice results from Botox.
How long do Botox and Dermal Fillers last?
Without additional treatments, the effects of Botox and Dermal Fillers eventually wear off. Botox treatments are known to last for up to four months, while some Dermal Fillers can last six months or longer.
