How Kybella Works
KYBELLA is a synthetic form of Deoxycholic acid, a substance that helps your body breakdown and absorb fat in the food you eat. Dr. Schraw injects this into the fatty area under the chin and it goes to work destroying the fat cells there. Once the fat cells are destroyed, they can no longer store fat under the chin. So the process is done in stages so that you can achieve the desired look.
Each session will be scheduled about a month apart, with most patients seeing visible effects after 2 to 4 treatment sessions. The actual number of treatments will depend on the amount of fat and submental fullness that you currently have and how well your body receives KYBELLA.
What To Expect
KYBELLA treatments usually take around a half hour. You can expect some swelling, bruising or numbness under your chin. However, most people’s side effects are gone within 2-3 days.
